My Story
I am Roger Kang.
I discovered my talent for running and physical fitness as a youth, which quickly developed into a life-long passion. This is how my story began.
Over the years, training at the gym and running on a regular basis were not simply obligatory activities born out of guilt of being compelled to stay fit. They, in fact were inseparable entities which became second nature and integral to my health and well-being.
As I committed myself to regular training sessions, I constantly challenged my physical fitness and set personal goals to achieve milestones; be they specific completion times, running certain distances, marathons or participating in competitions at a national level. My ultimate long-term goal was to achieve the highest level of physical fitness possible and remain youthful.
This inevitably resulted in becoming progressively conscious of the types of food and drink I consumed and analysing eating habits. I incorporated nutrition into my regime, adapted my lifestyle and cultivated an attitude of self-discipline, self-learning and balance. My sense of direction was clear and my approach to life was to live it in the healthiest and most holistic way possible; both physically and mentally whilst taking great pleasure and enjoyment at the same time.
In order to achieve this, I turned to my humble beginnings.
Originating from a rich culture steeped in ancient traditions of maintaining health and well-being in a natural way, I was keen to apply the knowledge and practice of Ayurveda to my existing routine.
Being an avid athlete and requiring massage therapy as a part of my personal training programme, I had been searching continually for complementary massage therapists with traditional Ayurvedic learnings, values and authentic Eastern influences. To my astonishment, I was not alone in my quest and noticed a growing demand for such therapies amongst an increasingly health-conscious society and demographic.
This presented an opportunity to be seized.
The desire to deliver the therapy, soon became an idea.
The idea was conceived which in turn, created a vision.
The vision consequently transformed into a business concept.
The business concept mapped the course of life and carved a path which had merely been a dream in pursuit for many years.
The dream was being realised.
Reality struck. I embarked on a remarkable journey of discovery, education and exploration during which time, Ayurvedic Haven was born.
